Network Software Engineer - Automation
We are looking for a talented, driven, and dedicated Software Engineer. We have a vast and complex network and a never ending need for innovation in order to meet the needs of our ever changing environment. This position will require knowledge of networking technologies including routing, switching, and security as well as a desire and aptitude to learn new technologies as needed to keep pace with our customer needs. This position is a key contributor on the network automation team where we are leading the industry in innovation. We are developing software models of our infrastrucuture and using these models, we automate and validate the network.

Software Development at GoDaddy.com, LLC in Kirkland, Washington will research, design, develop and test software that meets operational specifications, as determined by conducting requirements analysis. Develop, maintain and add new features to Load Balancer Configuration application and Network Configuration Management application. Develop YANG graphs for new server rooms. Maintain and uplift CI/CD pipeline of the team. Standardize network architecture. Develop new IP address management application. Develop VLAN as a service application. Modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt it to new hardware, and to upgrade interfaces and improve performance. Perform maintenance of software systems. Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements. Work with data structures, algorithms, and software design. Use bleeding edge Open Source technologies to innovate and set the pace on the Online Presence market. Conduct Object Oriented development. Work with Unit and Automated Testing Frameworks. Utilize understanding of Databases and Data Modeling. Employ a variety of Computer Science foundational concepts (algorithms, data structures, networking, etc.)
- Provide Tier 1 troubleshooting support for complex hosting and enterprise network environments.
- Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation.
- Collaborate deeply with a cross functional team of Network and Security Architects, Software Developers and Engineers, Server and Platform Engineers, and Data Center Operations. You will do more than just maintain a network.
- Minimal travel requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math, or a related field is preferred
- CCNP certification or equivalent is preferred
- Experience with networking equipment such as routers, switches, load balancers, and firewalls.
- Experience with network protocols such as OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, VRRP, LLDP, etc.
- 2+ years of relevant software development experience, 4+ years without a college degree or advanced networking certification
- Ability to comprehend, analyze and research problems of a complex nature, make judgment decisions and recommendations and lead the implementation into a production environment.
- Experience using Network Management/Monitoring tools (e.g. RANCID, Netcool, Splunk, Spectrum, Polaris, StatSeeker)
- Strong desire to learn emerging technologies and to innovate
