We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with experience in developing software using C++ and C# to assist in improving the capabilities of our eCommerce platform to tackle critical business problems.

GoDaddy sells hundreds of products to customers from all over the world. These products and bundles have different pricing terms, discounts, tax implications which require dynamic pricing calculations when a user searches for a product. Add to that multiple currencies and restrictions and you have the makings of a large-scale data retrieval system that needs to answer queries in milliseconds no matter where in the world they are coming from. What you'll get to do...

• Software Development: Use your expertise in C++ and C# to write efficient, modular, and maintainable code for various software projects. Translate requirements into functional software solutions, develop highly performant and available applications using industry-standard coding practices
• Technical Design: Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to the technical design of software applications. Propose solutions and improvements based on your strong understanding of software design patterns and system architecture
• Code Review: Conduct and participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, identify potential issues, and mentor junior developers, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment
• Troubleshooting and Bug Fixing: Investigate and resolve complex technical issues and bugs reported by users or other team members. Apply your analytical skills to identify root causes and implement effective solutions promptly
• Performance Optimisation: Find opportunities for performance optimisation, profiling software applications, and implementing enhancements to improve efficiency and scalability
• Documentation: Write and maintain comprehensive documentation, including design specifications, user guides, and operational runbooks, to facilitate the development process and improve the software's maintainability
• Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, technologies, and standard methodologies in C++ and C# development, sharing your knowledge with the team to promote continuous improvement
• Expanding Your Skills: We use AWS services, Containers, Serverless Architecture, Java, Spring boot, SQL, and no-SQL databases for a lot of new development. You will be expected to show a growth mindset and learn these new technologies as opportunities present themselves
• Working in a Team: You will work in a scrum team and join forces with other engineers, product managers, architects, and sales & services representatives from within and outside of the eCommerce group

Your experience should include...

• 8+ years of professional experience in C++ and C# software development, with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex software projects
• Strong proficiency in both C++ and C#, including modern language features and libraries
• Solid understanding of software design patterns, data structures, algorithms, and system architecture
• Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development methodologies
• Effective communication skills and the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
